Time to come in from recess! No more play now. We have lots of work to do…
Sound familiar? Remember those younger days? You know, the ones where life was filled with school, eating, sleeping, and…P-L-A-Y.
There was always time to play. Sometimes there was a bit of delay because homework wasn’t done. Or maybe you forgot to do the chores. Uh-oh. That never happened to me. Tee hee…
Fast forward to today. We get to do adulting most of the time. Well, sometimes we have to do adulting. So yes, we do have stuff that we’ve just gotta do. But do we have to live in a world that only has busyness?
Sure hope not! I like to play every day. I find that the more I allow time to play, the more I can do my “important work.” The more I can create. I guess I could say that another way…
The more I recreate, the more I can create. That’s my theory, and I’m sticking to it as long as it works for me.
I think I’ll start my recreating time today with a simple drive in Punk’n to the mountains.
Look! There’s a family with their dog, running across the kissing bridge. (Remind me later to tell you the story behind that bridge…)
Next is a sort of peek-a-boo in a shallow cave. Careful! You might get your feet wet in the spring water…
Sometimes I stand still long enough to be with my husband in front of a majestic waterfall. Sigh. Sigh again. I wanted to stay, but there is no comfortable place to sleep there.
It’s always fun to visit my barn friends. I kept trying to get the donkey and his goat buddies to play, but all they wanted was a handout. I apologized for not being prepared with a tasty snack, and promised to bring something the next time I stop by.
Choestoe. A beautiful area in Union County, in the North Georgia Mountains. I wonder why they called it Land of the Dancing Rabbits?
Maybe those rabbits kept proliferating. Or maybe someone thought the whole place was so gorgeous, and they couldn’t stop dancing from the sheer joy of it.
I love the last idea! Can you imagine being so caught up in the beauty of God’s creation…that you have to dance? That your joy-smiles can’t be contained? How wonderful is that?!
I feel a praise song bursting forth!! Thank you, Lord, for your wondrous works!
